Think of your TiddlyWiki like a word processor document, and tiddlyspot like a USB stick -- except it's in the sky :)
If you make changes somewhere, and save them back onto tiddlyspot.com, you can go to another computer, pull that wiki down from tiddlyspot, and add more changes. If you save a copy onto your local hard drive or whatever, you can make changes to that _without_touching_tiddlyspot_ and then two months later you're back from Antarctica and save your modified wiki back to tiddlyspot and everything's okay. If you have an offline copy somewhere, and it's been updated on tiddlyspot, you can only replace your local copy -- there's no way to just "pull in" the latest changes. And if you end up making separate changes in two places, like tiddlyspot and an offline copy, or in two separate offline copies, you will have to tediously merge the changes yourself (or even worse, accidentally lose a bunch of changes when you save over the top of them). Hope that helps.. ;Daniel On 17 January 2014 03:30, Chris Lott <[email protected]> wrote: > If I set up TW5 with Tiddlyspot as the main TW site documents, can I then > work on my TW5 wiki offline and on? > > I actually discovered TW after running into problems trying to set up a > system so I could work on my wiki offline and on...and from multiple > machines.
