The problem here is that there is a bug that affects attempts to upgrade 5.0.9-prerelease wikis to 5.0.9-beta. The import process should refuse to import the prerelease plugins but in fact overwrites the final 5.0.9 plugins with the prerelease versions. The error you are seeing is the result of the mismatch between boot.js and the core plugin.
Note that this bug does not affect upgrades from 5.0.8. It only affects people who were using a prerelease version, and not official releases. I will fix it by issuing 5.0.10 in the next couple of days. You'll be able to upgrade corrupted files to the new version. The workaround you can use for the moment is to open the corrupt 5.0.9 wiki in a text editor and manually copy your tiddlers out into a new empty.html. Take care not to copy any of the core tiddlers such as $:/core.
