Fundamentally, TiddlyWiki (both Classic and TW5) is more than just
highly-customizable note taking applications.

TiddlyWiki can be used to create very sophisticated interactive "database"
applications as well. A single tiddler, containing a set of fields, is
like a row in a database table. A group of tiddlers with the same field
structure can be identified by a common tag or field value, effectively
defining a table of rows.

The TW5 filter syntax (ForEachTiddler macro or inline javascript code in
TWC) can be used to select meaningful "records" from those tables and
generate output based on those records and their field values. Of course,
TiddlyWiki's capabilities make it much more than a simple database report
generator. It can be used as a highly interactive interface for validation
and verification of data entries as well as performing ad-hoc queries and
other "data discovery" tools such as tag clouds, tag grids, tree views,
etc.

Some of the ways in which TiddlyWiki (Classic) can been used:

* mental health treatment (see http://ambit.tiddlyspace.com)
* student class records (attendance and assignment grades)
* field service manuals (with updates and "tech notes")
* server system administration (network node configurations, allocations,
etc.)
* customer service records (call history, service levels, etc.)
* employee "human resources" handbook

... and many more database-like uses, such as "balancing your checkbook and
keeping recipes" :)

hope this was the kind of answer you were looking for....
