Hi,
I spent many hours, in the last two days, playing with lists and variables
and macros, trying to figure out how to do the following (with 5.0.12).
- I have a book with *several* authors listed in the "authors" field.
Example:
- Title: My Book
- authors: [[First, Author]] [[Second, Author]] [[Third, Author]]
- Each of these authors have field for their names and surnames.
Example
- Title: First, Author
- name: Author
- surname: First
- I want a button that creates quotes from [[My Book]] using authors'
data. Example:
- Title: First, Second & Third — quote 1
- authors: [[First, Author]] [[Second, Author]] [[Third, Author]]
Until now, I have successfully created that kind of buttons, using
Matabele's plugins, for quotes, notes, comments, etc. BUT only for ONE
author, AND storing its name and surname in the book fields. My problem is
when the publication has several authors and their surnames has to be
retrieved from the authors' tiddlers.
Playing around, I've also created macros that gives me the title and the
list of authors I want, but I couldn't manage to use them with Matabele's
plugins in order to have working buttons.
If someone could help me, here is a real example, with the tiddler
"Bréhier, Émile (1997): La théorie…" as a starting point:

Thanks in advance!
