Hi That would involve string manipulations -- this, I can't see how to do with the tools currently available. Perhaps it would be easier to add another field to the book tiddler with a value containing the string "First, Second & Third" -- this could be done quite easily when entering the book data. The quote button could then use this string with quote1, quote2 ... appended as appropriate.
