Hmm, if I look at [1] all entries are sorted alphabetically.
Anyway, you can add "sort[title]" in the <$list filter ...> of
$:/_ui/MenuTemplate (near the bottom):
<$list filter="[all[current]tagging[]sort[title]]"
template="$:/core/ui/ListItemTemplate"/>
You can add a background (although not perfect) with something like this:
.tw-topbar {
background-color: white;
}
in a stylesheet.
