If possible I would like to see a checkbox that would allow me to unselect

The plan is to be able to shift-click on a checkbox to set/clear all the
checkboxes up to the one that was last clicked (GMail has this feature).

Good point. For 5.0.15 I've added logic to automatically block $:/state/
and $:/temp/ tiddlers.
