There may be a way to work around your office restrictions without running 
afoul of the rules:

www.portableapps.com offers versions of many popular programs -- including 
several browsers -- that can be installed onto a USB stick rather than your 
local hard drive.  These programs can then be *RUN* directly from the USB 
stick... and they save any changes to their settings, configurations, etc 
*back to the USB stick*, so NO changes occur to the contents of your hard 
drive.
