@tobibeer said something off the cuff in a github thread
<https://github.com/Jermolene/TiddlyWiki5/issues/1180#comments> on another
topic. I'm picking up on this but feel it is more a google group thing. Not
so much an issue, more of a brainstorm thing about using the tiddler left
side margin area (the 'gutter') for stuff:

[...] this is where I would also envision things like permalink and
> >permaview, even info... you hover a tiddler and, when enabled, you see

That would be super! On hover toolbar like the side popout in metabeles tw
<http://gwiz.tiddlyspot.com>. Accessible and yet I don't think you'd hover
mistakenly over it because there is not much going on at the left of page
anyway. (If not "discoverable" enough, as @Jermolene puts it, there could
be a faint *more* icon residing there permanently or even have such an icon
appear when hovering over the rest of the tiddler and when curser glides
over to left it switches to menu as just described.)

This would leave only the closing X in the corner - very elegant IMO. The
onhover side toolbar would also "allow" for more added tools without
cluttering (or, rather, with clutter hidden until on hover). I've found
this has happened to me - I want a few tools out there, but it ain't so
pretty. Hm, come to think of it, on hover visibility could be used for the
current toolbar...

Could use additional sides as well of course. And for public TW's, you
could put "public tools" in visible top bar and "private tools" in the
popups and then just disable these when someone else is using the TW.

Generally appealing concept to use "apparent decoration" for features.
