Hi Tobias, I use Zotero [1] as reference manager, and I don't see the need to transform TW into a tool like that. TW is great to manage notes, comments, ideas, etc., about these references but not too manage them directly. Having some kind of connection between TW and third party specialised software is, I think, a better idea.
Concerning footnotes, I tried using Danielo's plugin time ago, and it works well, but I'm not thinking about using them again until other aspects and features of MagicTabs are stable enough. The real text of my thesis is almost finished (using Libreoffice + Zotero).
