Yes, that was exactly the problem. I fixed it just giving display none to the 
sidebar. Since it is exactly what I wanted for my purposes I think your 
solution is much better for all the most common cases. 

Do you think that the default behavior should be to not display the sidebar at 
all when it's hidden? I mean display none. 

And what about the other question? Which idea is better for a header? Page 
template tag or the above story one?
