Hi Jeremy, I agree on all points / concerns... but I also share the interest Andreas expressed in separating core and ui... which is something that TW2 fell short rather categorically. I like the fact that one could with a bit of fiddling compile a desired minimal TW5 already.
I can see how this is not a priority (atm), albeit a worthy endeavor that anyone who wishes to explore alternative ui's for TiddlyWiki can pick up on and, like Felix for TiddlyMap, then make necessary pull requests to the core that could eventually lead to rigorously separating core and ui... with someone else taking up the task of developing and testing all that. As for mismatching versions, there could always be a dependency of a given ui version to a given core version. Not?
