Hi Andrew, I'm one who thinks there are no "stupid" questions, only "stupid" answers.
Just to be clear, global does not (necessarily) mean controlpanel, it only means there's one or more system tiddlers holding the configuration appropriately, separate from the script, macro or template that uses it to build the desired output.
