Any button code can be added to any link -- if the desired behaviour is to 
clear background tiddlers periodically, then the code could be added to 
each 'category' button (or some such.)

I am assuming that the current tiddler was opened by a button in the first 
instance -- seems like using single page navigation buttons (links) to 
avoid this, is the best approach. Keeping a whole lot of hidden tiddlers in 
the background, then having to clear them, doesn't appear to serve any 
function.
