I'm pretty sure it's the latest version, version 11.

Yup, went to a vendor website and IE 11 opens PDFs just fine.

Any other suggestions?  Thanks for responding.  There's a lot of high level 
stuff going on in this forum.  I feel kinda sheepish posting this question, 
heh.
