For that task, taking in account that you are using the browser, would 
require a dedicated browser plugin, which I think exists already, at least 
for firefox. Make a search for tiddlyclip.

The way things are stored is exactly the same. But, because this is 
considered a separate application and not a browser tab, it has an specific 
memory space. The technology is the same, localStorage, but instead of 
associating it to the browser, it is tied to the app
