TiddlyDesktop is RETIRED, I believe. TiddlyServer, effectively, replaces it.
The main problem you will get over time with TiddlyDesktop is that the "rendering engine" is out of date so more modern designed pages that use the later CSS will begin to break down in TiddlyDesktop as the underlying system has no idea what to do with them. That may include the LOOK of TiddlyWiki itself. IF you see no visual problems them I'd just carry on. BUT know its can't go on forever.
