Well, it sounds like you’ve already decided that it isn’t worth your time. 
That’s a shame.

If you prefer that kind of event why not take up the suggestion in my 
invitation and engage in discussion to set things going in the direction you’d 
like to see? Even if you’re not attending, your feedback in shaping the event 
could be useful.
