Me too, I often start by a search before adding new content.
So I open this ticket https://github.com/Jermolene/TiddlyWiki5/issues/1801 
and Pmario did this plugin : 
https://wikilabs.github.io/editions/new-tiddler-from-search/

But your solution is simple and I like the minimal presentation and save 
space.
