Mark S., you are correct. I started my android wiki with a "full wiki" download of the "TW for New Users" at http://tiddlywiki.psat.com.au/TW5NewUser.html. It was that wiki that displayed the problem with the invisible menu.
I have switched to an empty download of tiddlywiki.com wiki and the problem has disappeared. Regards, David.
