However, if I try your code with any of the multiline ones, the
linebreaks seem to break it [1].

Added you as a member to MarkDownTutor [2] ...have a look at the two
private tiddlers FailTest and ShowDown, the former being a test
tiddler and whereas the latter is the plugin containing your variation
of the regex.

Maybe it's really not worth pursuing this too much though as it does
not seem to make a lot of sense to have inline markdown, as opposed to
it being contained in a block.

As for using ยงยงยง, I figured it looked nice in the sense of MarkDown's
"it should look like what it means aproach" ...whereas I have not come
across such a usage in TiddlyWiki land, so far, so I thought it might
be a nice wrapper.

On the other hand, I have added instructions [3] on how to use a
different formatter, e.g. like the one you suggested in your example.
