The HTTP synchronisation functionality is currently broken in TiddlyWiki5,
but will return soon.

TiddlyWiki5 is, as you say, still under heavy development, and isn't yet
ready to be used as an alternative to classic TiddlyWiki. There's a lot
there if you're interested in delving under the hood and understanding how
the new version works.
