I intend to enable SSL for tiddlywiki.com over this weekend, the 11th/12th
November 2017.

The result will be that https://tiddlywiki.com (and
https://classic.tiddlywiki.com) will work, and that the plain http:// variants
will redirect to the https:// variant.

The motivation for the change is that it ensures that the TiddlyWiki code isn’t
tampered with in between the server and your browser — we’ve had some issues in
the past where people were downloading TiddlyWiki over a proxy that modifies
HTTP traffic.

Two specific motivations are:

* At present, the plugin library doesn’t work for TiddlyWiki’s hosted on HTTPS
* Google are in the process of demoting websites that serve their content only
over HTTP

I created a GitHub issue to track technical aspects of the transition:

https://github.com/Jermolene/TiddlyWiki5/issues/3005
<https://github.com/Jermolene/TiddlyWiki5/issues/3005>

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns,

Best wishes

Jeremy
