One thing that is costing me a huge amount of wasted effort on building 
tigervnc is the lack of clear, concise build instructions.  README is 
full of ifs and buts and does not explicitly state where in the tree 
some of the stated commands need to be run. It probably seems clear to 
someone who knows exactly what to do but then that is not the purpose of 
that document.

 From the svn 4086 I last used I see:

     if [ "$XORG_VERSION" = "7.4" ]; then
   patch -p1 < $SRCDIR/unix/xserver15.patch
     else
   patch -p1 < $SRCDIR/unix/xserver17.patch
     fi

So what happens if , as in my case I have 1.6 ?!
