How much more fragementation should be added to the VNC world?

qemu has eg. implemented VeNCrypt:

The various VNC variants were (are?) not good at cooperating: they
only share a small basic profile (from 3.3 version), but any newer
features are only supported in a small number of (or even only one)
variant.
