I should also point out that x11vnc in libvncserver 0.9.9 now uses the 
TurboVNC encoder, so it should encode with approximately the same 
performance as TigerVNC.  It's not going to be as good as using an Xorg 
module built against the system's X server source, but x11vnc is about 
100 times easier to build, and it will probably be somewhat faster than 
x0vncserver, since x11vnc has some fairly sophisticated ways of 
monitoring the X server for changed areas.
