Hi, I'm not familiar on using vnc, but basically I need to connect to a vm
(installed on the samepc on which I'll visualize its content) on which 3d
applications (mostly games will be running).Presumably the vm will run the
tigervnc server and the host system will run the client.I'd like to understand
how much overhead an application like tigervnc will cause and what will likely
be the bottleneck (i.e :cpu resources? Memory Bandwidth? hd i/o?) in my
system.My system specifications are:CPU: i5-4590 3.7ghz Haswell quadcoreDDR3:
32GB 2133 mhzHost OS, vm (with the guest os and its applicxations) will be
installed on 2 SSD sata 3 working in Raid0(max 1000 MB writing and
reading).Host os will use the integrated HD 4600 as vga, while the VM will use
(through pci-passthrough) a R9 270vga.Resolution for the virtual machine
visualized with vnc :2400x1350
If my question wasn't clear, I'd like to achieve the same thing this guy
achieved:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qi1LdFkRzIsAnd I'd like to know what
will likely be the bottleneck on my system, how much loss on performance (I know
this is a vague and hard question to answer, but if anyone could give a vague
estimateit would be highly appreciated) will be caused by vnc compared to the
same system running natively windows. And what tips you might have to reduce the
bottlenecks.
