The problem is that processing has gotten slower on the server side. Unfortunately, this affects all tilesets equally. I have a conversation next week with the hosting provider (at SDSU) to figure ou what changed 2-3 weeks ago to cause this slowdown, and we're working on getting some fast local drives to put tiles on instead of working only through an NFS mount.
Unfortunately, I on't know of any way to improve this performance based on my observations at this time.
