Hi!

I'm currently developing an Application that shows nearby points of
interest on the iPhone. To show where they are, I use a OpenStreetMap
static map, served from tah.openstreetmap.org/mapOf/

It worked reliably during the past month, but In the last few days the
service stopped working, as is discussed in other threads. However I
rely on the maps having the specified size and being accurately
centered around the provided location, as well as the service being
available.

Is it a good idea to use your static map in this kind of context? I
really want to support this project and promote OSM by using it in
this project, which I hope will be quite visible.

I am also looking into having a tile-based pan- and zoomable map in
the future. For that I would need rather small tile sizes, like Google
or MS do for mobile apps. Does OSM have small tile sizes that I could
use?

Thanks in advance,
Gernot.
