In Osmarender4, Jochen had made an effort to put all symbols into an external directory and also make them all the same scale etc., even providing a demo svg that would pull them all in for easy viewing, but somehow this got lost in later versions and symbols are now back in the rules files themselves; don't know what need triggered that but a trip back through subversion might unearth these features. > Frederik: I think I saw something about this not being implemented in > or/p? Yes, there was a bit of code in the SVG that I did not understand and that wasn't obviously used. Maybe one can even produce .svg files that simply href external symbols? > It might also be possible to minimize the changes needed between > zoomlevels by playing with the scale parameter (and then also > adjusting every other parameter), but I'm really not sure how that > work so I might be talking nonsense there. I think the latter is the case ;-), as using scale will make rendering look very different.
