Or should this end up in an | exclusive club here? I believe you completely misunderstood what Frederik said. However it is too much of a hassle (plus expensive) for us linux guys to get diverse windows versions for testing the client when the main issue is not expanding the client base (we do have enough currently, maybe even more than enough) but getting the best out of what clients we have. This does not mean we turn back new clients, just that our main efforts go elsewhere. It has been said before: If you want it to run well on windows, do it yourself. That would be similar to how we active guys ourselves came to this render-project that was originally started by OJW. And yes it could make sense, to kill off the [EMAIL PROTECTED] project as a grass-roots rendering effort, and do it more like the mapnik rendering in a more controlled environment. Which doesn't mean "elitist club" but simply that: A more controlled rendering group, still open to anyone, but with different prerequisites (the current are that you can get the client to run at all, easy-ish on linux, not as easy on windows) - -- Dirk-Lüder "Deelkar" Kreie Bremen - 53.0952°N 8.8652°E -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2.0.7 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQFIsAXFFUbODdpRVDwRAj0gAKCV8HSkQiDxBLdl5rAOomNnZd1uuACfS5ko Wi3uA5ox17fjMYJ+IjbvvWw= =DGC0 -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- _______________________________________________ Tilesathome mailing list [email protected] http://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/tilesathome
