I do agree with you. Such an important variable should be set explicitly in the conf. I'm afraid trying to grep it via system settings will end up in nirvana. To me it's still not clear how this will be done. I do not want to have my Batik-Jars in any Paths, Sys-Variables or ClassPaths.
