And diversity is a good thing.  Osmarender is a lot easier to use at
home for people who want to do their own map rendering.  Who knows
where Osmarender would be today if t...@h hadn't pushed its development.

In any case, I would not throw away the infrastructure that has taken
some time to build.  If the tile layer is really deemed superfluous I
would rather have the clients render something else instead of
shutting them down.

The maplint layer is already a specialized layer, that probably should
be continued.

What else could we render?  Nautical charts maybe?  What else?
