I run multiple instances of ./tilesGen.pl loop and they start and run just

For me, inkscape sometimes just sits there like that and decides after
an hour or two that it should continue as if nothing happened. I don't
have evidence but when that happened, I also had 2 instances running in
parallel.

I've encountered such "stops" as Marcel described on all my client machines, though all of them have only one instance and even no parallel upload enabled, to prevent any possible errors. I've just one rule of thumb that says, the worse (older) the computer running the client, the better inkscape runs. I'm running an about 8 years old machine that renders a few simple tiles all day long that is really slow but the most stable of all my client instances. The client running on the newest computer fails after at most 10 rendered requests.

But I've got no idea what actually causes inkscape (at least on Ubuntu) to hang.
