With John Ackermann's approval, I'm offering my HP 5061B to the list before I put it on ebay. I bought it last June and now I need to sell it.
The unit is in very good condition inside and out. It has the LCD clock and High Performance Tube options. It also has the "10811 osc. series 3010" option. All the frequency and PPS outputs work well. I don't have the correct AC cord, but I made an adapter that takes a regular power cord. I am far from being an expert on this type of equipment, but here is what I can tell you about it: The unit pumps down to almost zero very quickly. When performing the startup/checkout procedure the unit goes into "Continuous Operation" mode without any trouble. Meter readings after a short warm up (< 1hr): Battery = 40 (NiCad battery is installed, but will not hold a charge.) Supply = 40 Ion Pump I = Just barely above 0 Osc Oven = 42 CS Oven = 22 5MHz = 38 Mul I = 38 Beam I = 20 Control = 0 2nd Harmonic = 40 When I first put the unit into operation here, I also did the Zeeman adjustment procedure, as per the manual. It didn't need much adjustment, and things went smoothly. BTW, I have been running it with the CS turned off most of the time, to save the tube. I'm not sure how much to ask for this unit. I see that an HP 5061A is currently on ebay with a bid of $2550 and an HP 5061B is listed with a starting price of $2500. Even though my "B" model is probably in as good or better condition as those on ebay, I don't expect that much from anyone here. If I have to put it on ebay, I'll try for that type of price. I don't really want to sell it, but I am in need of some cash. So if you are interested, please email me directly with your offer. If you want pictures or have any questions, email me directly. I checked with the local UPS store and having them box it, plus shipping anywhere in the continental US will cost $100 or less. Insurance (assuming $2000 value) is $89. It can be insured for any amount you want, or not at all, if you want to take that risk. Thanks. _______________________________________________ time-nuts mailing list [email protected] https://www.febo.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/time-nuts
