Actually, I feel no shame, but I do feel sort of sorry for the folks that feel the need to take others to task for such differences... especially when the intended meaning is obvious... such as mHz in an RF group. One would have to be pretty dumb to think that might mean milliHertz. I felt rather annoyed when kcps became KHz, and when mm-Hg became Torr, and mmf became pf, and when mhos became Siemens, ... Before they deified these units I knew what they were.
