A few weeks ago we were discussing paralleling regulators .

 

The October 2007 bulletin from Linear announces a new part : the LT3080 low
drop regulator.  They claim: "The LT3080 is the first adjustable linear
regulator that can be directly paralleled to spread the current load and
thus spread dissipated heat."  The architecture is based around a precision
current source rather than the typical precision voltage reference.   The
output potential is set with a single resistor when in typical 3-terminal
configuration and can be taken all the way down to zero.
