Hi Bruce, Sorry, saw the label, but could not look inside. It was a repair shop label so maybe they had fitted the factory uprade kit and used a misleading label. I've only ever seen the Odetics and the Magellen OEM5000. Never seen an OEM 5000 anywhere else. Robert.

If so, I would be VERY interested to know which receiver it is. Heh... Actually, my own unit had an intermittent problem of not receiving any sats. Turned out that the Magellan receiver module had some seriously flawed solder joints. Some judicious reflowing with a heat gun, coupled with some touch-up work using a needle-point soldering pencil, brought it back to life.
