Hi Bruce,
Sorry, saw the label, but could not look inside. It was a repair shop label
so maybe they had fitted the factory uprade kit and used a misleading label.
I've only ever seen the Odetics and the Magellen OEM5000. Never seen an OEM
5000 anywhere else.

  Robert.

??!!

Now THAT's interesting! The only receivers I've ever seen in the Odetics were
the OEM5000 and the original.

Do you have any of the 325's that have been fitted with a third-party receiver?
If so, I would be VERY interested to know which receiver it is. One of my
long-term goals has been to find a way to use a standard (NMEA output) module
with the 325, and if the firmware already exists to do so I'd love to get image
files for the EPROMs involved.

Heh... Actually, my own unit had an intermittent problem of not receiving any
sats. Turned out that the Magellan receiver module had some seriously flawed
solder joints. Some judicious reflowing with a heat gun, coupled with some
touch-up work using a needle-point soldering pencil, brought it back to life.

Happy timing.
