The DM501/501A/502/502A are nice if you don't want GPIB support (which is why
one would be using a TM5006 mainframe in the first place). I prefer twirly
knobs over pushy buttons on my meters, so I use the non-A versions. Also the
non-A versions do current measurements through the same pair of input jacks as
voltage (no swapping test leads to measure current).
