Yes, 10 MHz is a nice convenient choice :) for a reference signal.

I think I am going to hold off on trying my 
Quartzlock down-converter until I can find a data 
sheet.  It's looking like there's enough 
variables between different manufacturers 
practices that there's a good chance things will 
not be very interchangeable.
