Joe, All I have is the paper manual for the 5315A/B, HP PN 05315-90021, applicable to Serial Prefix 2120A and below. I also have the Manual Changes, dated April 30, 1982, and June 3, 1982, applicable to Serial Prefix 2144A and 2204A.
The manual itself is about 1/2" thick and Chapter 8 has 39 pages, 6 of which are the large fold out pages. Even on the original, the photos are marginal. Figure 8-14 is the 5315A Motherboard/Display schematic. Would that be helpful? Or is there a specific part or function you are looking for? Neither the 5315A or 5315B have HPIB but the 5316A (and I think also the 5316B) has the option. I have seen them on e..y for less than $50. Let me know if there is a specific part I can scan and email to you. I am in the midst of a 'heavy month' until the end of October and not a lot of time to devote to the 'fun things'. Is your manual on paper or is it already scanned? I'd love a complete PDF with better scans of the pages with photos. Right now I'd like a good, readable copy of the schematic. This model doesn't have any data output connection. From reading the circuit description in HP Journal, I think it may be possible to add a data output so that I can log things on a PC. I know it would be easier (and more precise) to get an HP 5370A/B or similar, but for now, the HP 5315A is what I have and can afford (got it for free). If an interface isn't too complicated, I can probably scrounge from the parts box. Joe Gray KA5ZEC On Mon, Oct 5, 2009 at 10:11 PM, J. L.
