For what it's worth...  I have put a 5370B CPU into a 5370A (without ROM card) 
and it worked fine.   

I have also put a 5370A input board/interconnect bridge board into a 5370B (you 
have to use the 5370A interconnect bridge board with the 5370A input board).  
From what I can tell the firmware and the input/interconnect are the only 
differences between the 5370A and 5370B.

Note that there are two versions of the 5370A front panel and arming boards.  
The external trigger and display time pots are wired differently.  You have to 
make sure that your arming board matches the front panel.  Modification info is 
in the manual
