Hi Rb's are sensitive to magnetic field (that's how you tune them) and to temperature. Just how sensitive falls into the "that depends" category. The OCXO in the Thunderbolt is temperature sensitive. There seems to be some difference between generations of Thunderbolts in that respect.
If you are after the absolute best performance, packing everything together isn't going to help. As long as the Rb is on a heat sink and the temperature in the rack doesn't get much above 40C nothing should break.
