the LabView 2009 student edition seems to be either $79.95 as a dvd or $115 as a textbook bundle.
http://www.ni.com/labviewse/select.htm looking at the FAQ: http://www.ni.com/labviewse/labviewse_faq.htm it appears that there's no limitation to the student edition except that it puts a watermark on your screen.
