The HP 10811 type oscillator is used for both the HP 5370B TIC, the HP 3586B
SLV with the high stability option, and the HP 5335 frequency counter which I
have. But none of them make use of the EFC option that I’m aware of. They do
use EFC for the HP 3336B frequency generator that I have. Considering the
instruments cost it seems like a strange omission to me.
I can get a manual adjustment down to an error of about .04 Hz at 15 MHz
compared to my Lucne GPS using a great deal of patience and having a bit of
luck.
Can or has anyone hacked these instruments to add EFC? I don’t mind being the
firs to try but I’d rather not re-invent the wheel.
