An ebay seller, as typical says "I don't know if this even powers up" but the photo shows all dashes across the display. Is there any way an HP 5334A can get to an all dash display without passing the self test? Seems from my reading of the manual it will either be (1) dead (no lights on) or (2) display an error code and stop or (3) pass the self test flash the model number and then display all dashes.
Turning on the HP5334A and just let it run through the startup self test among other things will leave it with dashes accross the display.
I suspect that the seller does know more than he admits but simply does not want to offer warranty as he would have to if he said "it works". So I'm wondering if an all dash display is a fairly good indication that the unit works.
Well, that's what mine do.
BTW, I don't understand these sellers. They could easy double or more the selling price of the unit if they'd make a very few basic tests and take photos of an operating display.
Having the knowledge, time, manual and will-power may be the aspects missing.
