I would buy a semi kit too... but so far, no one has said what the end
product is yet.
Could I do it in my home lab... yes. Hand soldering, hot-air rework
station, stereo microscope, you name it.
But my time is worth more to me than trying to piece together something that
could be done much cheaper or bought.
