Probably related to "psychomouse", which I've seen on USB serial ports with NMEA devices attached. What happens in that case is that windows does a device discovery and on hearing the "M" in things like GPRMC, it decides to install a microsoft ballpoint mouse driver which immediately starts interpreting the NMEA stream as mouse information, resulting in much hilarity for all.
It frequently does not inform you of this driver install, for reasons that are unclear to me. ________________________________________ From: [email protected] [[email protected]] On Behalf Of Michael Baker [[email protected]] Sent: Tuesday, November 29, 2011 9:15 AM To: [email protected] Subject: [time-nuts] Unplug T-bolt before booting up...?? Hello, TimeNutters-- I have heard of the problem of needing to unplug a T-bolt before booting up the (Windows) computer but I have never seen that problem myself. I have had a T-bolt running on several different desktops and laptops and never experienced it. I do recall that there was a fix for this problem but have no idea what it is.
