Steve steve-krull at cox.net -"I think 5v is most common now days, too. The old
Odetics GPStat (even older than the GPStar!) provided regulated 8 or 9 volts,
I forget which. I had to add a 5v regulator to allow use of a newer antenna".
+++++++++++++++++++++++++
The 1998 Odetics GPStar Plus I got had a Magellan 5000 OEM GPS receiver
and that supplied 12V to the antenna. I had to cut a run on the adaptor board
and
re-route it to the onboard 5V regulator to make everything work right with my
5-way
distribution amp/splitter.
