Somewhat on topic, these are some local people that aid in rocket
recovery. I ran into Ian Kluft of Stratofox at the Space Ship One
launches in the Mojave.

One of the military bases (Army or Marine aviation, not USAF I think) in
the desert has a MLAT system to track their aircraft.
